Who are you?
Loveydovey Memories™ was a long time in the making and was officially launched into the wider market by Founder and member of the Institute of Videography (IOV), Geoff Dove in 2008.
Why Loveydovey Memories™?
Loveydovey Memories™ is a young, vibrant and exciting DVD production company. We are not run by near retired ‘professionals’ who have been in the business for 25 years and are still using the same techniques now as they were in 1984! We are proud to produce contemporary DVDs taking advantage of state-of-the-art Apple Mac software and hardware equipment.
What equipment do you use?
We use Sony High Definition quality cameras, lapel microphones for the service and speeches and we also have a 13.6ft camera crane, a track and dolly system and steadicam stabilising unit for ultra smooth panning and tracking shots. What do we need to do to take advantage of your monthly plan?
We have a downloadable Booking Form on the website that you will need to fill in and send back to us once you have decided on the right package for you both. We urge couples to get in touch with us prior to filling it in and sending it off as there is some information we need from you before you can start to make payments.
What does the price include?
Everything that you see in the package you have chosen. The price we provide will be the price you will pay. It won't change unless you change your package or decide to add any of the 'Optional Extras' we have available.
How long does it take to complete the editing?
Every wedding is different and so we aim to get the editing completed within 3-4 weeks. We aim to complete your DVD components and get it to you within an 8 week period. However, this can vary and is sometimes longer during the busy summer period. We take great pride in our editing process and so if we spend longer than stated we will not ask you for extra payment. We firmly believe that some things are best not rushed.
Do you mic the groom to record the vows?
Yes. We will place a lapel microphone on the groom. Don't worry though, everything is discrete.
How many cameras will you use on the day?
We always use at least 2 cameras to capture your day. We film in High Definition as standard and have a range of equipment to help us capture your day in a unique way from a steadicam and vest to 13.6ft camera crane and a track and dolly system for those ‘moving’ 'Hollywood' scenes.
How many in your team will there be on the day?
At least 2 cameramen will be on location filming your day. This allows us to capture your day using 2 cameras simultaneously making for a professional finished edit. We will be dressed accordingly and so should we appear in any of the guests shots we will just blend in with the crowd.
How will you communicate between yourselves throughout the day to ensure you capture all the necessary moments?
We will be wearing headsets and have 2 way radio mics, only audible to us. This ensures that we can communicate easily with each other and always be one step ahead of the situation.
Will our day be burnt onto a single DVD?
The depends on which package you choose and whether you decide to have a Blu-Ray DVD too. Blu-Ray technology can hold vast amounts of data on a single DVD, far more than your average DVD, and therefore we would expect to get everything we record onto a single DVD. If on the other hand you opt out of having Blu-Ray (due to technology specifications required to play and view the DVD in true High Definition quality) then it could be burnt onto 2 or 3 DVDs.
How many DVDs do we receive once everything has been completed and the balance settled?
1 as standard. However, you can order more later at a cost of £50 for 4. We also have Blu-ray disc as another alternative*.
*You will need a Blu-Ray DVD Player. Please note, that Blu-Ray DVDs will not play back on HD-DVD DVD players and vice versa. Standard definition DVDs will play back in most DVD players.
Would your team require dinner?
No thank you. We can use that time preparing for the evening. Wedding meals are expensive and we don't expect you to pay for our food.
Can we choose the soundtrack for our DVD?
Yes of course. We like to have your input prior to your wedding day. Your choice of music along with some other answers to questions unique to you help us get a feel for you both. This helps give us the edge and create something unique for both of you.
What area(s) do you cover?
The majority of our clients come from South East Wales. However we are prepared to travel to most locations. Please ask us for further information about our travel costs.
How far ahead do you accept a booking?
Generally we take bookings up to two years in advance. As long as we have received your Booking Form and deposit that will officially book your date with us then we will reserve a date however far away it is.
When do you start filming?
Weather permitting; we like to arrive at least 2 hours before everyone else. This gives us the opportunity to set up and to capture the location building, the surrounding grounds as well as the some of the guests and the Groom and the Best Man arriving.
When do you stop filming?
This is completely dependent on your chosen package and whether the day is going to schedule. We only have one package that offers the capturing of the first dance which is generally the last part of the day that is captured. Please view our packages to find out what is covered.
Is Loveydovey Memories™ insured?
Absolutely. We are covered with Public Liability Insurance as well as Indemnity Insurance.
If the weather forecast is raining on the day will it hinder what you plan to capture on the day?
If you should be unlucky enough and it does rain of course our plans have to change. In the event of unruly weather we will capture all the necessary shots inside the location. We do allow for bad weather and always have a Plan B in mind. During the initial meeting this would be something we would talk about. If your day is slightly overcast or 'grey' then do not worry. In the post production stages we can add real-life effects and filters that will enhance the look of the day giving the impression it was all shot on a glorious summers day.
Do you attend the rehearsal?
We think it is a good idea to include us on any rehearsals that you have - though maybe not all. This will give us all the opportunity to speak to the Vicar/Priest so that we know where we are allowed to stand during the ceremony.
Do you film the whole of the Ceremony?
Yes. We film the entire Ceremony with at least 2 High Definition cameras using 2 cameramen who will be placed in opposite positions from each other and facing the Bride and Groom. In the post production stages this allows us to edit them together switching between the two camera angles for a more professional edit.
Do you set up any shots?
Yes. Although we aim to make you both appear as natural as possible we do like to take the Bride and Groom away from their friends and family just for 15 minutes or so to do what we like to call the ‘private shots’. This is where we ‘stage’ certain shots without feeling the prying eyes on you both from friends and family members. By taking you both away from the crowd it helps to create natural and very often poignant moments between you both. Scenes may include standing on stone steps with a beautiful view behind, holding hands whilst walking away from the camera and of course a kissing moment. All shots are filmed for literally a few seconds at a time.
How can I book your service?
Your wedding date can be secured upon receipt of a completed Booking Form along with the required amount deposit. If you take advantage of our pay monthly options then any remaining balance owed will be required in full at least one month before your wedding date. Payment can be made by cheque, cash, postal order, draft or bank transfer. We also hope to have Visa facilities available soon.
